Arden Syntax Version 2.10 (May 6, 2014)—Successfully balloted by Health Level Seven (HL7) International,ArdenML the latest Arden Syntax version contains a new feature: ArdenML, an XML representation of Arden Syntax's medical logic modules (MLMs). Medexter Healthcare offers cross compilation/transformation between the text-based and the XML-based representations of the Arden Syntax MLMs. Thus, Arden Syntax is now compatible with all other HL7 standards based on XML (HL7 version 3, VmR, and others). As a further benefit, it is now possible for developers to use available XML tools in their work with MLMs.

ConhIT Satellite Event, Berlin (May 5, 2014)—At the conhIT 2014 satellite event organized by the GMDS and BVMI in Berlin/Germany, CEO and Scientific Head Prof. Dr. Klaus-Peter Adlassnig held an invited lecture on "Progress on Arden Syntax: Fuzziness, technical integration, and ArdenML.".

Pharmacogenomic Decision Support (May 2, 2014)—In cooperation with the Medical University of Vienna/Austria and the University of Pittsburgh/U.S.A, members of Medexter Healthcare published a paper in PLOS ONE about "An Ontology-Based, Mobile-Optimized System for Pharmacogenomic Decision Support at the Point-of-Care.".

Arden Syntax Work Group (March 21, 2014)—The Arden Syntax for Medical Logic Systems Version 2.10 was prepared for balloting in the next ballot cycle of Health Level Seven (HL7) International in May 2014. This version was developed with extended contributions by the Medexter team being part of HL7’s Arden Syntax Work Group. At the same time, an Implementation Guide for Arden Syntax, Release 1, was also submitted for balloting. Again, members of Medexter contributed extensively to this document.

Invited Lecture FH Technikum, Vienna (March 13, 2014)—CEO and Scientific Head Prof. Dr. Klaus-Peter Adlassnig gave an invited talk at the FH Technikum in Vienna on "Clinical decision support in practice".

IFIC Congress, Malta (March 12-15, 2014)—In cooperation with members of the Medical University of Vienna, members of Medexter Healthcare presented "Intelligent electronic tools for automated surveillance and feedback, for audit and networking. A significant step towards evidence-based IPC in intensive care." at the 14th Congress of the International Federation of Infection Control (IFIC2014) in St. Julian's/Malta.

HEALTHINF 2014, Angers (March 3–6, 2014)—At the 7th International Conference on Health Informatics that took place in Angers/France, members of the Medexter team presented a "Plea for Use of Intelligent Information and Communication Technologies in Healthcare Institutions".

Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences (December 16, 2013)—The Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, Research Group on Osnabrück University of Applied SciencesInformatics in Healthcare, Germany, accepted an offer by Medexter to purchase Arden Syntax software licenses for research and teaching purpose. The contract comprises both the Arden Syntax development and test environment IDE and the Arden Syntax server with web-service interoperability and SQL database connector.

Universitätsklinikum Erlangen (December 12, 2013)—The Universitätsklinikum Erlangen UK Erlangenin Erlangen/ Germany signed a campus license on the use of Medexter’s Arden Syntax software for research, teaching, and patient care. The license agreement comprises the Arden Syntax development and test environment IDE, the Arden Syntax server with web-service interoperability, and the SQL database connector.

University of Colorado Hospital Authority, Colorado, U.S.A. (November 15, 2013)—The University of Colorado Hospital Authority in university of colorado hospitalAurora, representing a number of hospitals—among them the University of Colorado Hospital in Denver, the Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, and the Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs—concluded a contract with Medexter on the enterprise-wide use of Medexter’s Arden Syntax software. The software consists of the development and test environment Arden Syntax IDE and the Arden Syntax server. The IDEs are used for the development and testing of medical logic modules; the installed servers communicate via web services with the EPIC hospital information system installed in these hospitals.
