ID Austria Day 2012, Graz (May 2, 2012)—At the ID Austria Day 2012, organized by the ID Information und Dokumentation im Gesundheitswesen GmbH & Co. KGaA, Berlin/Germany in cooperation with the Steiermärkische Krankenanstaltengesellschaft (KAGes), Graz/Austria, our CEO and Scientific Head, Professor Klaus-Peter Adlassnig, gave an invited talk on "Clinical decision support in practice". This event took place in Graz/Austria.

ConhIT 2012, Berlin (April 24–26, 2012)—For the third time, Medexter Healthcare attended the Connecting Healthcare IT (conhIT) trade fair in Berlin/Germany. From 24–26 April 2012, three days of presentations of Medexter's products accompanied by intensive discussions with present and prospective customers took place.

Hepaxpert App for iPad (April 26, 2012)—Hepaxpert for iPad, version 1.0 (in English), is now available on the iTunes App Store. Hepaxpert is a software solution that allows precise and exhaustive interpretation of hepatitis A, B, and C serology test results. You can purchase and download it here. Health professionals as well as patients infected with hepatitis will highly benefit from these interpretive analyses of serologic tests.

Presentation at ConhIT 2012, Berlin (April 25, 2012)—At the congress of the Connecting Healthcare IT conhIT industrial fair in Berlin/Germany from 24 to 26 April 2012, our CEO and Scientific Head, Professor Klaus-Peter Adlassnig, gave a talk on "Clinical decision support in practice". The presentation was well received by the audience of more than 150 people.

HL7 International Newsletter Article (April 24, 2012)—The official newsletter of the Health Level Seven International (HL7) user groups in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Ardenand Luxembourg published an article on "Arden Syntax for medical knowledge representation and processing" authored by Klaus-Peter Adlassnig and Karsten Fehre, both members of Medexter Healthcare. This article gives a description of the present state of Arden Syntax and provides examples of its clinical use.

ConhIT 2012 Satellite Event, Berlin (April 23, 2012)—At the conhIT satellite event of the German Society of Medical Informatics, Biometry, and Epidemiology and the German Association of Medical Informaticians in Berlin/Germany, our CEO and Scientific Head, Professor Klaus-Peter Adlassnig, gave an invited talk on "Arden Syntax server—service-oriented architecture for clinical decision support".

European Federation of Medical Informatics Conference Contributions, Pisa (April 20, 2012)—At the 24th Conference of the European Federation of Medical Informatics that will take place in Pisa/Italy from 26 to 29 August 2012, members of Medexter Healthcare are part of the author teams of three reports given at this conference: (a) "Concise healthcare-associated infection reporting and benchmarking with minimal staff resources", (b) "Assessing the clinical uses of fuzzy detection results in the automated detection of CVC-related infections: A preliminary report", and (c) "A data-driven living review for pharmacogenomic decision support in cancer treatment".

Invited Talk in Lille, France (April 11, 2012)—At the 23rd National Congress of the French Society for Hospital Hygiene that will take place in Lille/France from 6 to 8 June 2012, Professor Walter Koller, a member of Medexter Healthcare’s clinical expert team, will give an invited talk on "Electronic surveillance of healthcare-associated infections in the ICU: is it worth it?".

Presentations at the eHealth Conference, Vienna (April 11, 2012)—Members of Medexter Healthcare are part of the author teams of three reports that will be given at the next annual Austrian eHealth conference taking place in Vienna/Austria from 10 to 11 May. The reports are on "Semi-automated identification of potential adverse drug events", "A comparison between the effectiveness of manual ward surveillance and electronic surveillance of healthcare-associated infections", and "QRE: A prototype for localized up-to-date antibiotic resistance information".

Health Level Seven (HL7) Austria Meeting, Vienna (March 21, 2012)—At the Annual Meeting of Health Level Seven Austria, which took place in Vienna, our CEO and Scientific Head, Professor Klaus-Peter Adlassnig, gave an invited talk on "HL7 standards for clinical decision support". The presented topics included "Arden Syntax—medical knowledge representation and processing", "Service-oriented clinical decision support", and "GELLO/vMR—Query and expression language / accessing a virtual medical record data model".
